Dr. Vida Hamilton graduated from RCSI in 1995 and started training in Anaesthesia in 1996. She trained in Intensive Care Medicine in the Australia and returned to Ireland to complete Specialist Training and join University Hospital Waterford as Consultant, working in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care.
Dr Hamilton is an Honarary Senior Lecturer in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Tutor in Anaesthesia for the College of Anaesthetists of Ireland and is Hon Sec for the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine in Ireland and Council member of the Intensive Care Society of Ireland, representating the Council at the Sepsis Section of the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. She is the National Clinical Lead for Sepsis, sits on the National Sepsis Steering Committee and is co-author of the National Guidelines on Sepsis Management and is leading the implementation programme.
