Mervyn Singer is Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at University College London and a UK National Institute of Health Research Senior Investigator. He has authored multiple publications on sepsis ranging from pathophysiological mechanisms, through to translational research into novel diagnostics and therapies, to multicentre interventional trials such as ProMISe and CORTICUS. He also co-chaired the International Sepsis Definitions Task Force which produced the recently published ‘Sepsis-3’ definitions.
