Julie-Anne is a registered general nurse, registered midwife and chartered physiotherapist. In 2004 she survived sepsis and multi organ failure. From then till 2014 she never spoke about her ordeal. In 2015 through a chance meeting with the national clinical sepsis lead, she has been sharing her story as a sepsis survivor to health care professionals nationwide. She has met with many survivors and family members who have lost family to sepsis. She continues to share her story and support families of those affected by sepsis through social media.She is an avid supporter of all sepsis campaigns to create awareness amongst healthcare professionals and the public. She has educated colleagues within her department around sepsis and continues to do so.
