Melissa Campos

Panelist in Session 13

Melissa is an obstetrician and gynecologist, health professions education specialist, and global health expert with experience in maternal health, acute care, and health systems strengthening. Originally from Mexico, she currently works with the World Health Organization Performance, Finance, and Delivery Department, where she supports global and regional initiatives to strengthen emergency, critical, and operative care systems.

Her work focuses on improving the organization and delivery of emergency care through technical cooperation with ministries of health and international partners. She has led and co-facilitated Emergency Care System Assessments in multiple countries and coordinated the implementation of WHO emergency care tools, including Basic Emergency Care and Community First Aid Response, supporting both facility-based and prehospital systems.

Melissa holds a Master of Medical Sciences in Medical Education from Harvard Medical School and has extensive experience in health workforce development, contributing to the design and implementation of innovative training models and capacity-building initiatives across diverse health systems.
