Adrian Ceccato

Speaker in Session 14

My career has evolved at the intersection of clinical care and research, always driven by the goal of understanding and improving outcomes for patients with severe infections and sepsis. After training in Internal Medicine and Pulmonology and completing my PhD, I became interested in how patients and pathogens interact, and how immune responses shape disease progression. Over the years, I have worked with multicenter cohorts of critically ill patients, combining clinical data with molecular and computational approaches to learn more about prognosis, organ failure, and recovery. I am currently leading projects exploring mucosal immunity, the microbiome, and potential strategies to prevent complications in septic shock. Beyond research, I enjoy mentoring young investigators and participating in teaching activities, as these exchanges often inspire new ideas. My work reflects the efforts of many collaborators and a continuous commitment to translating science into better patient care.
