Anju Grewal

Anju is a distinguished anesthesiologist and academic leader, currently serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology at AIIMS Bathinda, Punjab. With extensive expertise across multiple domains, her clinical and research interests include obstetric anesthesia, airway management, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, acute pain management, trauma anesthesia and acute care, regional anesthesia, perioperative safety, and scientific communication.
Anju has made significant contributions to the field through her prolific academic work, with over 100 indexed publications and 14 book chapters to her name. She is widely recognized for her leadership within the global anesthesiology community. She has served as National President of the Association of Obstetric Anaesthesiologists (AOA), India, and is President-Elect of RSACP. Internationally, she holds the role of Editor-in-Chief of Anaesthesia Tutorial of the Week, the flagship educational publication of the World Federation of Societies of Anaesthesiologists (WFSA).
Her editorial contributions extend across several prominent journals, having served as former Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Obstetric Anaesthesia and Critical Care (JOACP), Associate Editor of the International Journal of Regional Anaesthesia (IJRA), and as an editorial board member for multiple leading journals, including the Indian Journal of Anaesthesia, JOACP, JOACC, and JIMA.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions, she has been awarded honorary fellowships in Obstetric Anaesthesia by AOA India and in Airway Management by AMF.
