Halima Salisu Kabara

Halima is a Practice Development Consultant and Sepsis Coordinator of the SIDOK Sepsis Research Group, a multidisciplinary team in Nigeria. Halima is committed to reducing preventable deaths from sepsis across Nigeria and Africa and advancing patient-centered, equitable care in low-resource settings.

Halima serves as Vice-Executive Director of the African Sepsis Alliance (ASA) and as a Board Member of the Global Sepsis Alliance (GSA). Halima is also Director of Communication & Media for the African Federation of Critical Care Nurses (AFCCN) and an Ambassador of the World Federation of Critical Care Nurses (WFCCN), as well as an EECC and Sepsis Champion.

Halima initiated the Life Support Training Program in Anesthesiology/ICU at AKTH and pioneered Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) training in Africa, first implemented in Nigeria in 2023. Halima’s work focuses on workforce development, sepsis and infection prevention education, quality improvement, and health systems strengthening.

Halima has contributed to WHO sepsis initiatives and serves on multiple international working groups. Halima is an active researcher and co-author on several global publications and has been an invited speaker at international conferences and webinars on sepsis, critical care, and health equity.
