Mercedes Bonet

Mercedes is a perinatal health epidemiologist based in the Department of Sexual, Reproductive, Maternal, Child, Adolescent Health and Ageing at the World Health Organization (Geneva, Switzerland). She has extensive experience in global health, with a particular interest in improving the health and well-being of women and newborns through research and the development and implementation of guidelines and tools. She led a global study to assess the burden and management of potential severe maternal infections and sepsis in health-care facilities, and WHO’s evidence synthesis and normative work on maternal infections, including epidemics.
