Sorayah Bourenane

Sorayah, MSN, RN, OCN, CEN, CNL is a Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Emergency & Observation Units. In addition to her regular job duties, she has developed educational content and served as a subject matter expert on Oncologic Emergency Nursing for the Board of Certified Emergency Nurses. She also co-authored a chapter in a medical textbook for Oncologic Emergencies and assisted in the development of the institutional sepsis program at MD Anderson, which has resulted in decreased mortality. She also serves as Speaker of the Nursing Platform for the Global Sepsis Alliance where she leads a team of international nurses to improve outcomes for sepsis patients. She has been fortunate enough to present both nationally and internationally on emergency sepsis care, oncologic emergencies, end-of-life care in the emergency department, and in-flight medical emergencies. She was recognized by the Emergency Nurses Association’s “20 under 40” for the top ED Nursing professionals in the nation. She was also named the 2021 CNL Vanguard for advancing the role and nursing profession on a local, national and international stage. She has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented at conferences worldwide. Prior to nursing, Sorayah was an Event Production Manager for various entertainment events with clients including Lady Gaga, USA Network, Dell Computers, and many more. She was also a drumline instructor specializing in Marching Bass Drum, as well as a performer in Drum Corps International.
