Kusum Menon

Kusum is a pediatric intensive care physician and researcher at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario and a Professor in Pediatrics and Epidemiology and Public Health at the University of Ottawa. Her research focusses primarily on the adrenal axis and use of hydrocortisone in pediatric sepsis and a principal investigator of a large international trial of Stress Hydrocortisone in Pediatric Septic Shock (SHIPSS). She is currently the Vice-Chair of the Canadian Critical Care Trials Group and a steering committee member of Sepsis Canada. She is a member and the lead methodologist of the Pediatric Sepsis Definition Taskforce (SSCM/ESPNIC/WFPICCS) through which she has recently become interested in the role of the social determinants of health in the outcomes of children with sepsis.
