Odiraa Nwankwor

Odiraa, MD, MPH, FAAP, CPE is a Pediatric Intensivist at the Nemours Children’s Hospital, Wilmington Delaware, and Cooper University Hospital, Camden, New Jersey. Odiraa holds a medical degree from the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus, and a Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his residency in pediatrics from Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center, Brooklyn, New York, and a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine from the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Maryland. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Odiraa is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Thomas Jefferson University, a Visiting Scholar in Pediatrics at the College of Medicine, University of Nigeria Enugu Campus, and a Fellow, at the Carnegie African Diaspora Fellowship Program. He is a global child health expert with a focus on establishing pediatric intensive care units (PICU) in resource-limited settings. He is the Lead of the Nigeria Pediatric ICU Project, and he established the 1st organized Pediatric ICU at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku-Ozalla, Enugu, Nigeria. He has received multiple awards including faculty teaching awards, the Deans award for Excellence in Education, African Community Service award, and has been recognized among Top Doctors for Kids by the South Jersey Magazine for multiple years. He is a member of national and international professional bodies.
