Pedmia Shatu Tita

Pedmia is a Communication for development Expert and has served in this domain for over 10 years. Her desire for the new media and the positive use of the internet gave her the vision to create the organization’Global initiative for Digital Inclusion and Communication’. As a founder, Pedmia has collaborated with several local and international partners in advancing the need for governments to keep the internet open and for digital literacy for all. This recently earned her the My Digital World Project with Meta (Formerly Facebook) which she is leading in the Northwest and Southwest Regions. Pedmia is a multi-award-winning communicator. Pedmia is also a member of the Cameroon Digital Rights Coalition. Pedmia is WASCI’s associate for the Digital Security and Safety Program ongoing for CSOs in Cameroon. Among several organizations in Cameroon, Pedmia’s GIDICom was part of the 7chosen by @Defyhatenow Cameroon (a youth-led organization fighting hate speech) to champion the drafting of the first edition of its Social Media Hate speech Mitigation Field guide. This was applauded by the government and other stakeholders and has been used as a toolkit across training halls in the country. She is equally a certified Fact -Checker from the Africa Fact Checking Fellowship. She is currently the web animator/Communication consultant for the Bamenda Regional Hospital.
